DESCRIPTION
Thermotite is a sodium silicate, (water glass) viscous solution, used to fix ceramic fibre and other high temperature resistant seals to metal and glass surfaces. Typical uses include applying replacement seals to boiler and stove doors. The adhesive dries slowly in air and rapidly when heat is applied, and will maintain an extremely strong bond at temperatures up to 1000°C.
Information & Directions for use:
Use to fix ceramic fibre and other high temperature resistant sealing materials to metal and glass surfaces in boiler, stove and room-heater doors. The adhesive is water soluble, dries slowly in air and rapidly when heat is applied. It will maintain an extremely strong bond at tempertaures up to 1000 degrees celcius.
Thoroughly clean the areas where the cement is to be applied and remo0ve any dust, dirt and grease, using water if necessary. Apply the cement liberally with the brush provided. Depending on the application, it may be necessary to temporarily support the materials being bonded for a few hours.
Once seals are applied, it is necessary to wait for Thermotite to dry before using the heating appliance.
